Patient Monitor

Patient Monitor is a web-based clinical information system designed to replace patient lists and ward round notes held on paper or small departmental systems. Patient Monitor has been developed in conjunction with clinicians at Addenbrooke's Hospital who required easy access to patient information.

Patient Monitor provides the solution by seamlessly and efficiently integrating patient clinical information from a number of disparate systems into an aggregated electronic view.

The core elements of functionality are:

Configurable view and filtered selection of admitted patients for display and 'handover' print
Delivers a multi-system wide view of current admitted patient details
Single user interface to access linked systems, e.g. test results, drugs, diagnoses
Record additional patient data, e.g. patient communications, handover notes, clinical tasks, problems
History and audit of patient data amendments
Action patient transfers and update alerts on PAS
Identifies critical patients by user-defined care levels

Busy clinicians no longer need to remember different logon procedures for individual systems to collect relevant patient data in order to make clinical decisions.

Patient Monitor accesses the required information from multiple data sources and consolidates into a temporary cross-database view at the user-interface level.

Now clinicians securely login once and are presented with their filtered list of real-time linked admitted patient data in their preferred customised view.

Selecting a single patient gives access to their consolidated data and allows entry of additional information to aid other clinicians in the treatment of that patient.

Patient Monitor is currently PC-based running on IE6. Patient Monitor can be made available on PDA thus providing mobile patient records and looking to the future, Medifusion plans to develop an open-architecture solution using existing IT infrastructures.
